THE CHALLENGE: The bride's request was to have her invitation design and theme colors incorporated on the cake, and this is what we came up with.
I graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from UP Diliman and missed the days when I get to hold a paint brush. So today, I was delighted to once again be like an oil painter, only this time, i get to use icing as the medium.
THE FINAL CAKE: A 4-layer cake covered in white fondant. decorated with hand-painted crane cut-outs. Handcrafted sugar flowers we used are an assortment of extra large white roses, two-toned hydrangeas, berries and the sage green dusty miller leaves.
I love the "oil paint" effect!!! Come to think of it, this cake reminds me of the Starry Night painting and I surely felt like Van Gogh doing a masterpiece today.
